AFC Bournemouth enter 2026/27 in genuinely uncharted territory: for the first time in the club's 127-year history, they'll play European football, after Andoni Iraola guided the Cherries to a sixth-placed finish and first-ever qualification for the UEFA Europa League.
Iraola has since departed for Liverpool, with the club moving quickly to appoint Marco Rose — a coach with a strong European pedigree of his own, having managed Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, winning the DFB Pokal in 2023. It's Rose's first job in English football, and he inherits a squad already built around Iraola's high-intensity identity, with the challenge now of adding his own methods while juggling a demanding four-competition campaign for the first time in the club's history.
