Brentford enter 2026/27 with genuine top-half ambition after a remarkable first season under Keith Andrews, who finished 9th in his debut campaign in charge — well ahead of pre-season predictions of a relegation battle — and earned a Premier League Manager of the Season nomination in the process.

Andrews, promoted internally after serving as Brentford's set-piece coach before succeeding Thomas Frank in 2025, was rewarded with a long-term contract extension running through to 2032, having overseen a Carabao Cup quarter-final run, an FA Cup fifth-round appearance, and standout individual seasons from striker Igor Thiago and full-back Michael Kayode. The additions of Caoimhín Kelleher, Jordan Henderson and Dango Ouattara all played key roles in exceeding expectations, with Andrews building his side around a dynamic, direct 4-2-3-1 system built on set-piece strength and quick counter-attacking play.

With a settled squad, a manager firmly established in his methods, and continuity now the club's biggest asset following Frank's departure, Brentford head into the new season aiming to build on last year's platform rather than simply consolidate.
