Coventry City | 2026/27 Premier League Season
Coventry City return to the Premier League in 2026/27 for the first time in 25 years, ending their longest absence from the top flight since dropping out in 2000/01. Frank Lampard's side sealed automatic promotion with three games to spare, going on to win the Championship title, capping a remarkable rise for a club that was playing in League Two as recently as 2017.
Coventry were the Championship's highest scorers in 2025/26, netting 97 goals, with the goal threat spread throughout the squad rather than resting on one star man — seven different players reached double figures for goals and assists across the season.
The Sky Blues open their top-flight return against defending champions Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday 21 August, before hosting Manchester United at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Matchday 10 — a landmark occasion for supporters who've waited a quarter of a century for this stage.
