Diana Ross is an American singer, actress, and record producer. She was born on March 26, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan. Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of the popular Motown group, The Supremes, during the 1960s. The group became one of the most successful musical acts of the era, achieving twelve number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1970, Diana Ross left The Supremes to pursue a solo career. She achieved success as a solo artist, releasing several hit singles and albums. Some of her notable songs include "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Love Hangover," "Upside Down," and "Endless Love," a duet with Lionel Richie.

Aside from her music career, Diana Ross has also ventured into acting. She made her film debut in 1972 in the movie "Lady Sings the Blues," a biographical film about the life of jazz singer Billie Holiday. Ross received critical acclaim for her performance and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.
